Molokai Rural Development Project:

Digitization Technology Training

RDP is working collaboratively with the Hawaiian Homestead Technology Institute (HHT) which has successfully established digitization centers in homesteads on the islands of Kauai (Anahola) and Oahu (Waimanalo, Papakolea) and provided long-term, sustainable jobs there. HHT was incorporated in 2003 as a for-profit entity, wholly owned by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA). HHT’s mission is to bring the information technology industry to homesteads on all islands, create living wage jobs in Hawaii, and dedicate profits to socially driven organizations. Discussions with HHT has led to identification of Molokai as the next target site for digitization. Interest has been generated by the Hawaiian Homestead Association (HHA) on Molokai and significant groundwork for implementation is underway.
